We were given the exciting opportunity to staff a Birchbox pop-up shop in Carnaby Street, London. As their first bricks and mortar opening in the UK, this was a high-profile event for the US based beauty brand.
Working closely with the UK’s Birchbox team, we ran an array of casting days to hand select a talented ‘beauty squad’ to run the pop-up. We then deliver in-depth face-to-face training sessions at their head office.
We ensured our beauty squad already had retail experience selling to new and existing customers. But with the responsibility to represent Birchbox’s brand ethos and to act as ambassadors for various brand partners within the pop-up, we provided additional training to turn our staff into “discovery specialists”.
Our expert beauty squad needed to be adequately sized to cover running the pop-up seven days a week. And in fact, based on the success and popularity of the experience, we staffed a series of three extensions, resulting in a seven-month long activation.
To highlight the huge success of the campaign, the pop-up store resulted in winning not one, but two awards in a single night! We won Gold for Staffing and the Grand Prix at the IPM Cogs Awards.
POD were nothing short of amazing and made everything a faultless experience. The line-up of women we made into discovery specialists had an excellent understanding of our brand ethos and the retail experience required to sell to customers of Birchbox and all the other brands we have on offer.
